How to Trade

Your complete guide to trading on PokeTrade

Remember: Trading Requires Proximity

Pokémon GO currently requires trainers to be within 100 meters of each other to trade. PokeTrade helps you find partners and coordinate, but you'll need to meet up in person (or wait for remote trading features!).

Creating a Listing

  1. 1

Click "New Listing" or the + button

Find this in the navigation bar or floating action button.

  2. 2

    Add what you HAVE

Search for the Pokémon you want to trade away. Include shiny status, forms, and any other details.

  3. 3

    Add what you WANT

Specify what you're looking for in return. Be as specific or open as you like.

  4. 4

    Add notes (optional)

Include any additional info like CP range, special requirements, or your availability.

  5. 5

    Publish your listing

Your listing is now live! Other trainers can find it and message you.

Finding Trades

  • Use the search bar to find specific Pokémon by name
  • Filter by shiny, regional, legendary, and more
  • Check the "Have" section to see what traders are offering
  • Check the "Want" section to see what they're looking for
  • Save filters as favorites for quick access (Pro feature)

Contacting Traders

When you find a listing you're interested in:

  1. 1Click the "Message" button on the listing
  2. 2Introduce yourself and explain what you'd like to trade
  3. 3Coordinate meeting details (location, time)
  4. 4Exchange friend codes if you haven't already

Tip: Be respectful and patient. Not everyone can respond immediately!

Completing the Trade

  • Meet at the agreed location and time
  • Make sure you're within 100m of each other
  • Verify the Pokémon details before confirming the trade
  • Complete the trade in Pokémon GO
  • Mark your listing as completed if the trade is done
